Introduction
The technology department at Natomas Charter School uses a system called Mosyle Manager to remotely manage all of the school's Apple devices. One of the benefits of Mosyle Manager is the Self Service options available on our Apple computers. A handy feature included in Self Service is the ability to add network printers and copiers to your computer. The following steps will show you how to add any of the school's network printer to your computer.
Instructions
Locate the Manager app on your Dock. The icon will either look like a sideways WiFi signal OR it will look like the NCS Knight Logo. Here are some pictures for reference:
Note: if you don't see the Manager icon on your Dock then you can always search for the app using the Mac's Spotlight Search function. Click on the Magnifying Glass icon on the upper right corner of the screen. This will open the Spotlight Search box. Type in Manager in the search box. Double-click on the Manager app icon.
The first time you open the Manager app you may be prompted to allow access to Bluetooth. Click on Allow.
When the Manager app opens, click on the Self-Service menu
From the menu that appears, click on My Printers
As best as possible, the school's printers are organized by physical location on the campuses. Locate the printer (or set of printers) you're looking to add and click on the Install Now button. In a few minutes this will add the desired printer(s) onto your computer.
Once the printer has been added to your computer, you'll be able to select this printer as a destination in the program or document you are using.
Printing In Chrome
The Chrome web browser uses its own unique printing window when printing documents. After adding a printer to your computer, you'll need to select that printer as a Destination when you go to print in Chrome. In the Chrome print window click on the Change button in the Destination section.
Additionally, If you don't see the newly added printer in the list of printers, click on the See More option. You can now select the desired printer and then print the document.
